Forza Onore Application
Team Name: Forza Onore
Guild Leaders: ___Rogues ___Merchants _x_Rescuers
Name and Species: Dogen the shiny riolu
Appearance: Dogen is coloured a dark golden yellow instead of blue, and his mask, chest and legs are a very dark grey, appearing nearly black. He is noticably taller than the average riolu, and his fur is often unruly (particularly on his head), though he does his best to keep himself looking neat and presentable. His eyes are a warm brown colour. He has a scar on his right palm, and his hearing is poor in his left ear, but he isn't entirely deaf. The toes (and 'fingers, if you could call them that) on all four of his paws are not the same golden/dark grey colour as the rest of his arms/legs, they are a darker shade of golden yellow. He looks rough around the edges, and never seems to smile he has a serious air that makes him appear unfriendly.
Nature: Serious Likes to fight
Strengths: Resolute, unyielding - Dogen is very strong-willed, and possesses a good sense of what is right and wrong. He strives to always do the good thing, no matter how hard it may be, but he is far from perfect, and does make too many mistakes for his liking. Once he makes a decision, he stands by it, refusing to change his mind to please others. When making an important decision, he regards the opinion of others, and hears them out, and if it is needed, he will explain his reasoning, so that everyone is on the same page.
Disciplined and merciful - Having spent many hours rigorously training, Dogen has strengthened his body. He has a lot of stamina and endurance, and keeps fighting and pressing onwards for as long as he can. He recognises his own shortcomings, and therefore is able to accept defeat and failure if he needs to in order to keep himself safe. He constantly pushes himself to try and reach his full potential, but rarely pushes himself past more he can physically bear. He is also wise and just when it comes to listening to others and giving them a second chance if they deserve it. He also allows others to explain themselves if they want to, and also never takes gossip as truth, but rather seeks someone out to find out whether something is true or not.
Relentless like rain - When Dogen gets into the rhythm of battle, his blows come hard and fast, and it takes a lot to stop him. He has a lot of determination, and is able to draw energy from within when he starts to tire, to give him just that little bit extra he needs to be able to press onwards.
Weaknesses: Fools rush in - Dogen has a tendency to throw himself into the thick of battle and get things done and finished with as quickly as possible. He doesn't stop to think about consequences or possible hazards, he just charges in. If the pokemon he's up against express a desire to explain or reason with him, he'll calm down long enough to listen, especially if Bis is there, with a gentle, restraining touch on his arm. This tendency of his to 'get straight down to business' often gets him into trouble, but most of the time Dogen is able to get back out of it, with Bis's help.
Stranger danger - Dogen doesn't remember much of his past, his first clear memory is when Bis found him. He was completely alone, wandering through the trees on the edge of Sonata Forest, when he was attacked by two flying types. Bis came to his aid, and the two parted. Several years later, Bis came across Dogen shivering in the shallows of Pestilent Swamp, sick and weak. He tagged along with Dogen, and they've travelled togetherever since, training together, learning and growing, so that they have become closer than brothers - a loyal fighting pair. Something must have happened to him in the past though, because Dogen can't help but feel hostile, mistrusting and aggressive towards strangers who come too close. As such, it is very difficult for him at times to function in society, and especially difficult for him to work as a team leader who is required to work closely with others under certain circumstances. Bis helps to keep him level-headed and grudgingly polite at times, and Dogen really tries hard and is getting better at socialising, but for now, it is one of the biggest obstacles he has to overcome.
Lost in the fray - Sometimes, in the heat of battle, Dogen loses himself, and strikes out at any who come near him, even Bis. This is why Dogen often insists that Bis keep his distance and avoid getting drawn in to the battle, but Bis often disregards him and sticks close anyway, to calm him down when he loses it. This really frustrates Dogen the way he loses control of his emotions, his temper, and himself, and it encourages him to strive even harder to become better, and to truly know and understand himself.
Moves: Foresight, Force Palm, Shadow Claw, Sky Uppercut
Accessories: a plain, dark purple scarf is worn around Dogen's neck, with the ends both hanging down behind him so that they don't get in the way of his paws.
Second Member Information
Name and Species: Bis the shiny meditite
Appearance: Bis is of average size for meditite, but instead of being blue, he is a dull red, while the rest of him has the faintest of purple tinges to it, instead of being white. He can often be found meditating, and when he walks, he limps badly, due to a serious injury he sustained to his right leg when he was younger. He doesn't smile often, but he has a humbler, gentler way about him, which makes him less intimidating than Dogen. His eyes are different colours - the left is a dark brown, and the right is a dark green.
Nature: Calm alert to sounds
Strengths: Think on it - Bis is blessed with a seemingly never-ending supply of patience, and this allows him to think over everything carefully. He spends much of his time in meditation. During these periods of silence, Bis trains himself mentally, and has come to know himself very well. He never reacts on impulse, as he has taught himself to always think about a situation first, and he is trying to teach Dogen to think this way too, but his leader presents a tough challenge for him.
Determination enough to move mountains - Just like Dogen, if Bis makes a decision about something that he's thought long and hard about, he'll work hard to reach his goal. He is determined, and mentally strong. Just like his leader, he strives to always be a good example, to do the right thing. He is currently focussing on becoming physically stronger, and hopes to strengthen his injured leg, so that he can fight well alongside Dogen.
Open minded, watchful eyes - All his inner reflection and meditating has made Bis more acutely aware of his surroundings, and also helps him to broaden his mind. He absorbs knowledge like a sponge, and naturally knows a lot. At the same time, he has become very good at noticing subtle changes in the weather, and it also fairly competent at sensing shifts in mood and emotion. His ability to read minds when he concentrates hard really helps. In fights, he can more or less judge how well Dogen will fare, and if he believes Dogen well get attack from behind, or has a weakness in his defense, he'll jump in and cover Dogen's back, detecting attacks and reading minds for incoming attacks and alert Dogen to these.
Weaknesses: Break a leg - When he was younger, Bis was often picked on by some of the older meditite he lived with, just because he looked different. The one time he was brave enough to stand up to them, they fought with him, and he ended up injuring his right leg pretty badly. It healed, in time, but it was never the same when he walks, it is with a prominent limp. His hi jump kick is very detrimental to him, because of the nature of the move, and even more so because of his injured leg, and as such, Dogen has forbidden him to use this move. Bis obeys, most of the time, but if Dogen is ever in a sticky situation and things are looking grim, nothing matters to Bis except making sure Dogen is okay.
Holding back - Because of the bond Bis has with Dogen, and because of the loyalty Bis feels towards Dogen, who is superior to Bis in strength and leadership, Bis does what Dogen tells him to do a lot of the time, in regards to battle strategies and combat tactics. If Dogen tells Bis to run, Bis runs, if he tells him to hide, Bis hides. However, Bis isn't stupid, or disloyal, and he will go against Dogen's wishes if he deems his judgement to be clouded in anyway. But most of the time, Dogen is wise, and Bis obeys, holding himself back from his true potential out of respect for his leader.
Vulnerable because of you - Because of his loyalty and love for those he is very close to, Bis sometimes gets hurt. If he believes that Dogen is in trouble, he'll get right in there beside him, and watch his back, deflecting attacks directed at his partner, and sensing possible danger. He'll also go so far as to become a distraction for enemies, so that they are drawn away from Dogen, and he'll also execute hi jump kicks if the situation is dire.
Moves: Meditate, Detect, Mind Reader, Hi Jump-kick
Accessories: A white bandanna that is tied around Bis's right knee, in order to support it.
A letter for Mike and Fresnel,
Greetings, my name is Dogen, and I am here to humbly ask if I can affiliate with your guild as a Rescue team, along with my right hand and trusted friend, Bis. The two of us have come through a lot together, and want only to do what is right by others. We believe that your guild would be best for us, and we hope we will prove to be worthy Rescuers.
Looking forwards to meeting you in person,
Dogen of Forza Onore
